History:

On February 14, 2011, Hadi Abdul was admitted to Beijing Puhua International Hospital due to "postnatal retardation in speech, intelligence, and mobility." He was diagnosed with cerebral palsy upon admission.

Medical Condition Upon Admission:

• Poor response to external stimuli
• Limited head control; unable to turn his head or follow moving objects
• Frequent involuntary limb movements
• Muscle tone abnormally high, leading to stiffness and reduced flexibility
• Difficulty swallowing and chewing; required feeding tube for nutrition
• Seizures, although infrequent
• Requires assistance for balance and support while sitting

Treatment Plan:

• Enhanced balance control; able to sit unassisted for up to 10 minutes
• Improved swallowing and chewing abilities; no longer requires feeding tube

(October 10, 2011 – July 2, 2012)

• Further improved balance and strength in leg muscles; able to stand flat-footed with heels down
• Increased head control while sitting; better concentration on visual stimuli like television
• Improved hand movements; better response to external stimuli and communications
• Reduced seizure frequency; infrequent or no longer occurring
• Better ability to clear throat and take medication independently

Follow-up Letter from Hadi's Mother (July 2, 2012):

Dear Dr. Zheng,

I hope this letter finds you in good health. It has been some time since we last communicated, but I wanted to update you on Hadi's progress.

The rehabilitation treatment for Hadi has truly made a difference. He no longer exhibits the unusual seizure-like reactions where he opens his mouth and folds his hands. He now wiggles his toes and can stand straight with help, showing improved leg muscle strength.

Hadi can sit independently with his head held up and concentrate on watching television. He even laughs at people on TV and reacts to sudden movements! His swallowing has improved significantly, allowing him to eat, chew, and swallow food without difficulty.

His hands still require improvement in sensitivity, but he moves them better now. We are hoping for further understanding when we communicate with him.

Overall, Hadi's condition has vastly improved, with people around us giving positive feedback on his progress.

I would greatly appreciate your advice on how to further assist Hadi's hand sensitivity recovery.
